Chopard marks the start of the Mille Miglia 2026 as World Sponsor and Official Timekeeper
The legendary Mille Miglia 2026 is officially under way, bringing more than 400 historic automobiles onto some of Italy’s most beautiful roads from 9 to 13 June.
Over five days, the cars will complete a 1,000-mile loop between Brescia and Rome, following a figure-eight route inspired by the original races held between 1927 and 1938. Combining sporting challenge, mechanical heritage and breathtaking scenery, the Mille Miglia remains one of the world’s most celebrated classic motoring events.
For Chopard, this year marks its 39th consecutive year as World Sponsor and Official Timekeeper of the race — one of the longest-standing partnerships between a watchmaker and a motorsport event.
To mark the occasion, Chopard introduces a new interpretation of the Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph Raticosa, named after the iconic Raticosa Pass. The timepiece pays tribute to one of the rally’s most evocative locations, where mechanical endurance, driving skill and Italian landscape meet in spectacular fashion.
A closed caseback features an engraved titanium motif designed like a postcard to the Raticosa Pass, depicting a car powering along the mountain road surrounded by spectators — a celebration of the race’s atmosphere and its deep connection with the public.
This year, Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, Co-President of Chopard and devoted classic car collector, once again shares the cockpit with legendary racing driver and Chopard Ambassador Jacky Ickx. Together, they take on the route in the Scheufele family’s Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing.
As engines roar to life in Brescia, Chopard celebrates both the enduring romance of the Mille Miglia and its latest racing-inspired creations: the Mille Miglia GTS Power Control – 2026 Racing Edition, limited to 250 pieces, and the Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph Raticosa.
